Upgrading to a newer version of Velixo (Classic)

Created by Damien Zwillinger, Modified on Tue, 16 Jul at 9:35 AM by Gabriel Michaud

Applies to:

  • Velixo Classic
  • Acumatica, Cegid XRP Flex, MYOB Acumatica

Description

When we start Excel, if the "Channel" we used to install Velixo contains a newer version than what we are using, a message will appear letting us know about the new version:

Options

We can choose:

  • Update - to get the latest release immediately

  • Remind me later - to continue with what we are doing and be reminded about the new version, later.  The notification will reappear the next time we start Excel

  • Skip this version - and keep the version we currently have.  We won't see this message, again, until the next time that a newer version is available.

If we later change our mind about skipping this version, we can select Check for Updates from the pulldown on the Advanced button on the Velixo ribbon...

... to re-display the update notification.

First-time use

When you connect to a tenant within your ERP, if your version of Velixo uses any new generic inquiries that do not already exist in the tenant, you will receive a message such as this...

... letting you know that you will not have access to the new features until the necessary inquiries are installed by your sytstem administrator.

Note:  Certain older versions of the ERP support installing those inquiries from within Velixo Classic.  As a result, you may be prompted to create those inquiries:

To do that, you need access to the Generic Inquiries page within your ERP.  At a minimum, a user would require DELETE access to that page.

If you do not have sufficient access to the Generic Inquiries page, an error will be displayed.

Note: for organizations or individuals needing to disable the automatic check for updates, please see Disable Auto-Update Checks
